Title: Fruit cage yeeeaaahh
Post by: Andy H on February 18, 2007, 17:38:40
Just rescued knackered poles from a fruit cage that was being thrown
Used a few bamboo poles and other scrap that was dumped at plot
and bought mesh £16
Now have cage 4mx2m by 2m high

Funny the mesh was £10 for 8mx2m or
                               Â£3.99 for 4mx2m
so I saved £4 by getting 4xsmall rather than 2 big :D squeak squeak!

I made one last year out of build-a-balls and bits of bamboo. Trouble was, the bamboo was thicker at one end than at the other. The thick end fitted the balls nicely but the thin ends didn't. My construction stayed up for quite a while before finally collapsing in stages. Netting got all tangled so I ended u chucking the lot!

Seem to remember that Build-a-balls were featured a few times in a thread here on good and bad buys a while ago. I chucked some too.
