We've had the crocus in bloom for a few weeks now, and I saw catkins on a tree two days ago!

Spent a glorious day in the garden with all the family today, and yup, snowdrops, crocus and daffs everywhere, and ever single shrub and tree has green buds.  ;D

I have the snowdrops, some crocus and the occasional early narcissus flowering and the birds are singing.  It has been like spring day, sun shining and quite mild at 10c.   ;) ;)  and I am in SE Scotland.

Daffs and Crocs in the garden, but spent a nice sunny afternoon at the lottie, planted some JA's (cheers Jen) and re-claimed some of the clods I threw to the side of the fence 18 months ago that has turned to lovely soil about 5 barrow loads I suppose it could count as raised beds if I carry on like this. ;D ;D ;D

Loads of people at plot today(gatwick) down to t-shirt till wind came from north, put up frame ready to net, it was going begging.
Got MORE manure 2 trailer loads and I have just run out of stuff to do waiting for spring, scared of a frost popping in yet which could happen for months..... confusing year...

I'm almost tempted to say yes, with magpies building just down the lane. The bees aren't flying yet though; hybrids might have been, but these native bees won't fly until the weather's right. I haven't seen any crocuses yet, but then I'm not into them; I just see the ones along the lane.

It's been a wonderful day here in Norfolk today.  We've been out all day, making paths, planting shallots & even sitting having a cup of tea. A little reminder of what it's all about.  :)

Been overcast all day here in Tamworth, hoping it as dried the soil enough today to get on to the allotment tomorrow, I want to lift the nets on my cabbage as the recent snow as pushed them down the canes on to the crop.

Robins nesting, all manner of Spring flowers already blooming and a decent weather forecast led us to believe we would also have a Springlike day today - but what did we get? A cold, foggy, wintry day - just because Gordon and I went off to a Suzuki off-roading event up near Taunton. Up at crack of dawn to spend our first ever day using the 4WD in my Jimny, trailing up hill and down dale in a convoy of 16 like-minded souls. We thought we would be by far the oldest of the group, but were surprised to find the majority were in their fifties - still a lot younger, but not what one could call youngsters. At one time it pelted with rain for about an hour, which made the track more fun and in places quite hairy  :). Before we went Gordon had said I was quite mad, but he ended up enjoying the day as my passenger and took me out to supper on our return home as a reward for not ending up in a ditch or sliding off the mountainside.

Tomorrow - after a long lie-in and weather permitting, I shall get my beetroot seedlings out under fleece and continue potting on various tomato and pepper seedlings. Trouble is, I'm running out of space indoors and I don't want to put them out in the GH just yet...............sigh. But this is a problem we all seem to have, isn't it?

I've got a single clump of daffs on my plot in Northampton which I use as a my microclimate benchmark. They're  certainly waking up but the buds are far from fully formed - and despite being warm enough while digging this afternoon to remove my coat, the soil's still uncomfortably wet for digging so I've not chanced anything but broad beans yet.
