Thanks EJ.
We've been married 16 years, lived together 17 :o and don't send Valentines cards to each other. We don't need a special day to say 'I Love You'.
Jo.
We exchanged cards but it was our 21st wedding anniversary last thursday....
::)
We don't do cards or all the malarky that comes with it either, you don't need one hyped up day to tell someone that you love them. Will confess though did buy her some carnations when I was out with the kids today, but I don't mind paying our local pet food, plant,seeds, eggs, onion and spud seller a fair price for three big bunches of carnies (well she don't like roses ;D). We are going to our friends mothers funeral tommorrow and she told my oh all the flowers that she ordered have tripled in price this week, thats why I don't give the florists the time of day at least Dick Turpin wore a mask.
I got a huge bunch of flowers - must of cost £50!!
.....a lorry load of manure costs £30 - he could have saved himself £20!
LOuise
Didn't get a card but No 1 son got a £10 Hotel Chocolate voucher from his school for playing his horn well in some concerts recently. He persuaded OH to swap it for a £10 note and guess what I, currently on a diet, got given for Valentine's Day! >:( ;)
Me and OH have spent a cold, snowy Valentine's day shovelling horse manure before now...
::)
Didn't get a card, but hubby took the ironing to an ironing shop, wouldn't miind getting that every week, humph i mean year! so thoughtful.....
She got bunch flowers to work and balloon
I got nice strong bottle Llaphroig :D
then we went on a choo choo

Like you, we are newly weds, (married six months) so he pushed the boat out and i got VERY VERY spoiled, just like all good girls should ;)
No card, but help with making a raised bed today - well yuo can't grow much in a card!!
Are there none near you honeybee?
Are you near that road that looks uphill but is downhill
(depending which way you are going of course)
Andy
Ive already been researching Andy ;)
As for the uphill, downhill road.....looks like more research ::) ???
sorry its a bit firther north than I though. between Ayr and Maybole on the A719. Electric brae or croy brae
Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway up north a bit is one. from there you can catch a ferry trip up lake windermere.
You are in such a nice area, 12miles from lovely hills and near to gaping gill cave which a few times a year you can be lowered down in the chair into UK`s deepest waterfall!!! Want to do that some day but it is 1st come 1st serve basis so would be an early start for me from Gatwick with a chance of not being able to do it.......
lol...i dont know about 12 miles from lovely hills, we are about 12 yards ;)
My house overlooks moorland and your right, its very pretty here.
Just googled gaping gill and i think viewing it from my laptop as opposed to be lifted down in a chair is going to be the nearest i will get :o ;)
