Went to Wilkies today (as ya do) and saw these shoe racks for 2-99 each. Just need a piece of wood across the bottom to stop them falling through the slats and they make quite a nice shelf unit for the GH, I don't think you could buy the wood for that much.
excellent idea and a very good bargain
Shirlton you are the king of the bargains, unless that is that the scousers find something cheaper, go on scousers don't let me down. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
we're going to wilkies on thursday, will keep you posted ;D
I wasn't gonna tell you about what else I bought (just in case you may think that I'm a Wilkie Addict) lol but I got a pack of 3 flower pouches and with it came a pack of food and water retention grains and also a watering funnell that you put a pop bottle into the end to water baskets and such. All for 2-99 again. I was going to get some from Thomson and Morgan but theirs were a lot more expensive. T &M do a planter bag at 3.99. I wonder if anyone knows of a cheaper one. these stand on their own with holes all around for the plants, When they are in full flower you wouldn't even know they were in a bag. Great idea if you like moving things around like I do. Do have a scout round and see if you can get them at a good price. Cheers
Shelf - just brilliant!
Instead of wood 'across the bottom', why not a small square on each foot? Would let more light in below?
Hows the Wilkie shares coming along Shirlton. ;D ;D ;D
That is a total barg and a great idea, i might just treat myself to a couple of those tomorrow! ;) ;D
:'( :'( :'(. I feel so left out of all those Wilkinson bargains. The nearest Wilkinsons to me is in Plymouth - 35 miles away. That shoe rack looks fab - just what I could do with in my small GH where space is always at a premium.

Well Tim had a scrat around (cos we didn't want to spend anymore money. Tony found some old broomstales and some slats that were in an old airing cupboard. Below is the modified version. I'm always moaning at Tone for hoarding things. Never again. just shows what you can do with a bit of initiative and a little help from your friends and some old tat. Am gonna paint them with green fenceright that I bought for the garden but didn't like it on the fence
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Make the squares on each foot big enough so that the feet can't slip through the slats??
OR - fix the laths crosswise.
Or put strips of wood on the bottom joinging the legs in the other direction.
Needless to say, Tony got a b*******g. I tried so hard to be tactful but I'm afraid tactful and me don't quite go together. He's gonna cut through the slats and turn them around so that they don't go through the staging. He's got to wait until they are dry though cos I've painted them.
Read my thoughts, Robert!!!
How's this then. Tony said he was only practicing anyways.lol
Very neat, and a real bargain!
Practice makes perfect? Pity about the paint - hope you didn't get it where it wasn't wanted.
