Title: mulch for rasbs?
Post by: flossie on February 11, 2007, 14:39:13
OH has just raked up a huge barrowload of moss and the odd pine needle from the grass in our garden.  Will it be ok to use it as a mulch for the rasberry canes?  Am hoping that it may deter weeds...

Sounds good to me but someone who knows about these things might have something to say about pine needles & acidity - don't know what raspberries like in terms of Ph.

Hi folks,
although rasps would like a mulch of anykind the acidic mulch would be better used on blueberries.

Raspberries would be ok with this mulch, they grow well in a slightly acidic soil.
