Title: Grape juice
Post by: Mrs Ava on February 10, 2007, 18:46:52
I have a sack of frozen black grapes in the freezer.  They are now not in the freezer as I have just heard the old boy bring them in.  I am planning to juice them all so I can make smoothies, and just enjoy the black grape juice....however, if I am left with pints of liquid, can I refreeze it??

You can freeze apple & orange juice so why not grape?  Aren't you tempted to try a chateau EJ?  :)

I am tempted Mary, but wouldn't know where to start, and that would mean spending cash in getting started.

I know you can freeze the juice, I just wondered as the grapes were frozen, and thawed, to be juiced in the morning, if there is an abundance of juice, rather than let it go off, would it be okay to freeze it again???

See what you mean EJ.  I am always a bit sceptical of these dire DO NOT REFREEZE warnings which seem to be everywhere.  I think it's more to do with how you treat whatever it is rather than something inherent in the refreezing process.  If you have something hanging about then refreeze it then thaw it again & treat it as if it is fresh then you could end up with something quite toxic particularly if it was meat or fish.  But if you thaw the grapes, freeze the juice & then when you want to drink it do so soon after re thawing I really can't see how it would be a problem though maybe someone who knows more about it can set us straight!
