Title: Something to warm our tummies
Post by: Marymary on February 08, 2007, 20:29:25
Just made this for tea with some homemade bread, it's basically a Jamie Oliver recipe but actual amounts don't seem to matter much & it tastes sooo much better than its constituent parts.

2 tins of chickpeas or equivalent dried/soaked/cooked which I did - save the cooking water
large onion chopped small
2 sticks of celery chopped small
2 pints or thereabouts of stock made with Marigold vegtable bullion [use cooking liquid if poss]
large sprig of rosemary chopped
garlic chopped [much as you like]
couple of handfulls of small pasta

sweat the vegtables in olive oil, add the chickpeas & stock, simmer for 20 mins then remove some into a bowl & blitz the contents of the pan.  Put the whole veggies back & chuck in the pasta, simmer for another 15 mins or until the pasta is soft.  Enjoy!
