Post by: Marymary on February 01, 2007, 22:47:45
Could you very clever people out there please tell me if it's possible to embed an Excel SS into a Word doc & if so how to do it in easy steps.

Thank you MM

Go to the insert menu -> Object and a little window pops up with all sorts, scroll down untill you get Microsft Excell Worksheet.
Works on most versions of office I have used over the years.

If you might want to change figures in the Excel sheet, then make sure you "update" its position in the Word document. You can set it to do this automatically when you re-open the Word document. Can't remember off-hand quite HOW you do this :-\....but if you need help, I can look it up in my MS Office course book and guide you through it. :-*

Wow, didn't realise there was a "proper" way of doing this!

I've always highlighted the cells in excell I wanted copied, right click to Copy, go to word, make sure the cursor is in the right place and right click to copy.  I do this every month for a work report and have not had a problem.

Thanks for the replies - I think my friend has got it sorted now - apparently if she just cut & pasted then the ss 'floated' on the Word doc & she couldn't submit it like that.

Thanks again.
