not sure about moving established plants, but yesterday I planted two bareroot gooseberries that have just come into bud. if you dig them up and move them, they might need a bit of a prune so there's less plant for the roots to support while they get settled, and a feed. at least, that's what I'd do but I'm only guessing!

I saw Alan Titchmarsh do this on Gardener's World: He carefully dug around the gooseberry to leave over a foot of dirt around the plant... It was a huge lump. He gently lifted this to avoid damaging the shallow, fibrous roots and rolled it onto a hessian sack to drag the plant into its new position.

If needs must I would go as Si suggested.

As an alternative could you leave them where they are for this season and cut back the plant/plants sufficiently to get your fence in.

You could even consider training them along the fence?

I've moved them the same way; just leave a big ball of soil round the roots if you can. If you can't, don't worry too much. As long as it's not actively growing, which is highly unlikely in this weather, you'll get away with it.
