Hi Kate - almost (?) as bad as the virus propagators? The hoaxers?

Don't panic - just be careful! If this isn't the killer virus, there will be one soon!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh - don't I get cynical in my dotage! :)
All best - Gavin (not a mobile phone user! :))
Thanks kate will email my family &colleages and check my calls to.
Sorry Gavin, is so puter illiterate that when one of my former colleagues gives me warning like this, just pass it on cos they are genuine in their warning and probably know as little as I do! ;)
And no, gavin, you are no more cynical than the rest of us ;D
Don't worry Kate - some people get their so called kicks from speading alarm and despondency. ;) I can't see any way of infecting a mobile phone because firstly the infector would have to have your mobile number - he would then leave his number on your phone in the "messages received" section. Secondly, most viruses which infect computers are *.exe types of file which your Antivirus will pick up. You can't process these types of file on your mobile.
Ted
No worries, Kate - wish we could get the "joker" who started it off to apologise though. Can think of several other things I'd like to see him do! :)
All best - Gavin
Thanks folks, will pass that on to the friend who forwarded it to me, she is as ignorant of these things as I am! :D
Nice to know it was a false alarm.
