If you search back through the posts, you will see that I remarked upon how yellow everyones Garlic was early last year.

It doesn't seem to be a serios problem. But don't quote me!!

A lot of it seems to be yellowish when it first comes up, but it soon turns a healthy green.

I add nitrogen in the form of nitro chalk or similar;

Week 13; Rake/fork in a top dressing of nitro chalk at 60gms/sq metre (2oz/sq yd)

Keep the area weed-free, garlic is shallow rooted therefore it will suffer if the competition for water and nutrients is too great.

Potash - yes, but not until the Spring. And wood ash is gone in 5 mins.

Yes - nitrogen for alliumy things to boost. But not until the Spring - 13 weeks was that TG??

Yellowing is often from planting too early or suffering bad weather. See last year's posts.

Tim, I plnted the Garlic 4-5 inch down, i think it must be all the rain we have had.
I hope this dosn't affect the size and quality of the garlic.
what do you think??
would you leave them alone till the spring then??

cheers,Graham
