Darn show gives me a headache! Last week was so complicated I dreamt about it!!
I know what you mean. Sometimes I'm really engrossed but ( sorry, forgot the comma...hang on)
Sometimes I'm really engrossed, but then it starts off on close to a supernatural bent....I'm still not sure if I like it or not.
WTD is quality TV. You don't need a comma in front of "but" by the way :P
Comma, I know... ( having a a bit of a giggle here, sorry) See the thread in the shed, MT.
(Punctuation)
I've seen it, that's why I commented ;)
I like WTD and you do usuall need a comma in front of but. :P ;D

QuoteUse a comma + a little conjunction (and, but, for, nor, yet, or, so) to connect two independent clauses, as in "He hit the ball well, but he ran toward third base."
Contending that the coordinating conjunction is adequate separation, some writers will leave out the comma in a sentence with short, balanced independent clauses (such as we see in the example just given). If there is ever any doubt, however, use the comma, as it is always correct in this situation.
One of the most frequent errors in comma usage is the placement of a comma after a coordinating conjunction. We cannot say that the comma will always come before the conjunction and never after, but it would be a rare event, indeed, that we need to follow a coordinating conjunction with a comma. When speaking, we do sometimes pause after the little conjunction, but there is seldom a good reason to put a comma there.
No comment to that in EJ's thread on WTD. I'll copy and put it where it belongs for comment.
The plot are so convoluted and unbelievable, but I love it! Trevor Eve, (gasp sigh) 8) has so much charisma even though he is mad in this. The acting is great and the production top class. I like the relationship the team have with each other too. busy_lizzie
I love the French girl. Took me a while to like her character, but now I like her, almost, innocence. Love Dr Grace. It is a gripping show, and I never miss them, they just give me a headache!!

You may be right sir but it's too late for me to change now (teachers ::))
I must admit I gave up last week - Watched Trial and Retribution instead - this week taping Waking the dead and watching T and R. I do not watch hardly any TV but always find the things I do want to see clash.
The plot is nearly as convoluted as this thread. Love WTD & Boyd & Grace & all the rest, highlight of my week! Maybe I should get out more!
Highlight of the year for me is when the new series of Time Team starts, WTD is a bonus at the moment
Love WTD as well, but often find the Monday episode is completely different from Sundays - sometimes can be very confusing, but I do love the characters. esp Grace :D
Felt sorry for Grace, last night in WTD as Boyd was such a bully! Why do we still like him though! It's a mystery! :D busy_lizzie
Agree with you Busy_lizzie 100% really enjoyed this did get a bit lost last week!!

I really enjoy this programme but I too have got a bit lost when watching it. I get very tired of an evening and if I nod off for more than a couple of minutes, I lose the thread of it. I have found this latest series more complicated than the earlier ones but maybe I am just getting old!!
The characters are really great and very well acted.
Spot on with Time Team, MT!
Given up on it, try the other side Trials and Retributions. You should hear what Terry Wogan says about it on the radio in the mornings.
