Post by: RSJK on April 28, 2004, 10:53:30
 ???
just to let you know l have such a lot to do at the lotties now and the weather here is crap, Lam so fed up with having to sit about waiting for the dry weather to come back so l can get up there. L have five allotments now, Three have been cleared and dug over and allmost set, Two more to clear and dig, lam so enjoying myself doing them it takes my mine off things and l feel at peace with the world when l am doing them.

PS why are allotments like sheds...there is never enough room in them

Oh Richard,

I do hope that this band of rain disappears for you soon, I know how frustrating it is when you've got stuck into something and just want to get on with it.

With your five lotties, sounds as if you can set up your own market garden business too!  ;D

Well I trundled down to the plot this morning to try and get the digging finished, and just as I started, down came the rain.  I did a bit, but the spade started to get slippery and my hands got cold, so I pottered about weeding my main plot in the rain.  Wasn't so bad, but I really wanted to get the new plot finished.  And of course now, the sun is out!  Tut!!  Oh well, back again tomorrow morning, see if I can finish the big dig!

Erm, hate to make you all feel ill, but I was at the plot for 5 hours today :-\  No rain here in Sussex, and a perfect day to be moving stuff around in.....mind you, at least you lot wont need a radox bath if it is any consolation, and they are predicting rain here tomorrow. DP

Love a duck RK - is this cold and wet weather ever going to end to you think?  You have my permission to remind me I said that if we have another summer like last year and I start moaning about the heat..... can't help it - I am a truly a temperate zone person  :D

hi cleo hope you don't mind if I seek your advise about selling plants from home. I would like to do it on a small scale but not too sure how to start. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Richard. wow you have 5 plots you must be very fit. I have only one but am keeping a look out for another. Like yourself I feel very peaceful as well when I'm at the lottie, it is so satisfying to see the lottie well in my case almost weed free.

Am a very new lottie owner, this is my second week. Was really looking forward to a long weekend working on it but have just spent two hours digging and had so much earth stuck to my boots found it hard to walk.We had a really bad storm of hailstones here in Beckenham on Tuesday which was the worst that I can ever remember. Hope tomorrow is better as I cant wait to get going, thank you all for this website it is wonderfull. :)
