Title: A lovely day, and I am stuck in!
Post by: Mrs Ava on January 15, 2007, 13:12:09
Cor, blue sky, the sun is out, the birds are tweeting, and I have to wait in for a delivery.  'Anytime between 8am and 6pm madam!'  I could leave the door wide open, but chances are I wouldn't hear the doorbell.  However, have made the old boy a lovely chicken and mushroom pie for supper, using up yesterdays roast chook, and have made a chicken thai green curry for tomoz supper as I am working all day so it will ease my rush after school tomorrow, especially now clubs are back on and I have to go to school, come home, go back and come home!  TAXI!

Just having a little gripe.  ;D

It started off with blue skies here but now it's pretty grey and miserable looking.  I feel rain is on it's way.  I hope the skies are still blue where you are, EJ.

I know what you mean about waiting for the delivery man to come along.  I have to laugh though because Rosebud was waiting for a delivery just a couple of days ago and was told between 8-6 but the delivery man turned up at 7.45am!  ;D (why doesn't that ever happen to me? lol)

Is quite a bright day here, but still very cold and still got that really heavy wind, though it is not gale force now. Was going to rake some of those dead leaves in the back garden, I keep putting off doing, and now I have yet another excuse, - still too windy! I hate it when delivery people can't be pinned down.  Surely they must have some idea.   >:( busy_lizzie

Ah! I am useful sometimes :) Lorna just pins a note on her door  Please knock at 38.
I remove the note as soon as the delivery arrives. Last week the man came to read my gas meter, I didn't think about Lorna, the man came back and knocked again at my door. "Oh sorry to bother you again but the gent in number 34 said you probably have a key for number 36"

Well it came...whilst I was on the school run so they left it in the garage....good job I stuck a note on the door...course, I could have done that earlier and pottered in the garden, but just to make it worse, they left the wrong stuff, so are coming back on Thursday HOPEFULLY to change it!

Lish, David (no 34) doesn't miss much, that's why his ruddy garden is always 3ft high in weeds. When his friend/partner was alive the garden was lovely. Yesterday Lorna was washing her car with a small sponge, David came out and said "Lorna this big sponge will be easier for you, (still in it's packing) it has been in my shed since Jim died and we had a car" Jim has been dead for 7 years, still came in handy for Lorna. ;D
