A good baker?
Winston! And it's ever so early. Stores perfectly, too.
I'm missing out again - never had a baked potato which I found unwelcome.
But I suppose that the things one is looking for are:
1. Even shape.
2. Slug resistant. Do tell me!!
3. Clean skin.
4. Non waxy.
5. Good average size. But NOT like Picasso which are just TOO big!!
6. And tastes of potato?
Like I said Tim Red Duke of York.... agree about Picasso we've been here before!
;D

lol -- nice one, Tim!
But better still, how about 'tastes like potato with melted butter and cheese' -- (therefore avoiding the calories added when I load the spud with both!)
I'll second Desiree. It's a red early maincrop.
I'm growing it for the third year running as it makes lovely mash and it's also good as a baked potato.
Picasso may be big but the taste is to die for, and there's a bit of red there.

And red ones do seem to be less attractive to slugs.
Desiree for me last year & it's still my heart's desire for this. Down to the last ONE potato in my store - and I'm saving it for a Special Occasion ;D
marfona and the red one desiree or romano ;D / shades x
