Title: Allotments in winter
Post by: Garden Manager on January 09, 2007, 13:09:48
...Or at least how they should look like in winter!

These are of my local site, but i dont own a plot here (if you look at the slope you wont blame me!), as i have my own (much flatter) veg plot in the garden at home.

I took these coming back from a walk i went on, on my birthday back in December - on one of the few frosty days we have had here this winter.

I hope you like them.

If you have trouble with the photos, here are the links to them:

Thanks.

Tim: what do you mean? Your photos in general or your veg plot? Didnt think you had posted any 'plot' pictures recently? Of course i would give any pictures you posted due attention and respect.

Supersprout: 'Marginal Landscape'? I doubt your fellow lotties would see their allotments as  a 'marginal landscape'! What did you mean by that comment?

lol
not quite country ... not quite town ... on the margins, rather than marginalised! ;D
a chum of mine is helping develop a Town Design Statement for their rural town, and allotment land is an important part of the landscape and character of the town they are seeking to preserve :) I hope today's youngsters will feel the same romantic twinge I do when I see those misty winter plots.

They are a lovely sight but I knew SS would approve - not an enclosed bed in site (pun intended)  :)

Oh Garden Cadet!! You call that a slope. You ought to see ours it is a precipice up to that, but it is fun to landscape.
