been trying to download the software for my mobile phone and it gets so far in the download then I get the message that an Error 1317 as occurred. Could anyone help me out on this please.

What make and model of phone do you have and what are you trying to down load to it?

Hi plot73 thanks for responding the make of my phone is a Sony Erickson D750i and i am trying to download the PC Suite so that i will be able to download music onto my phone
You haven't got the necessary permissions to install the software.
You can get round this a number of ways:
1. Boot into Safe Mode (F5 or F8 at bootup), and then log in as Administrator.
2. Ensure that you have been granted administrator rights for the disk being installed to.
3. Install the software to a different folder that you do have permissions over.
Next time you try to download, select SAVE AS, rather than run, and then deal with the installation process as outlined above.
