57 tomato plants (10 varieties)
39 sweetcorn
34 squash's (everything from giant pumpkins to melons)
and a parsnip in a pear tree. ;D
Having probs congratulating you cos still spittin! ;D
Good on you EJ, you are definitely going to have fun this year :D
EJ- parsnips do not do well in pear trees-they like a light but deep soil -and as any good male gardener would tell you keep a well prepared bed in case of `four calling birds` ;D ;D

People ask what we do with 30 toms - tell me about 57? = Tim
Oh Tim do wake up-they make soup etc- Heinz?
Stephan.
Actually Tim, I don't know what I am going to do with so many toms or squashes! The plan to date is, come late May plant out the strongest one of each different squash, then if there is still room :o choose faves, which will probably be the melons. The toms, I have no idea. So far, they do not feature in my lottie planting plan so we shall have to wait and see. Again, I will be aiming for at least one of each variety, and the rest, well they are a bonus. At least I can give my mum and sis a couple of tom plants. :-\
Oh I wish there was a 'green with envy' emoticon (smilie). I have had a REAL struggle growing enough for my needs this spring (I swear its either the weather or the compost), though the ones I have got going are doing really well.
I WISH i had such an embarrasement of riches EJ!
PS I think you could spare your mum and sister more than just a couple of plants at that rate dont you ;)(thats if they want them of course ;D).
It isn't that I am only prepared to give them a couple, a couple is all they want :-[. The inlaws don't want any either as Avas step-grandad grows some for them. I didn't keep count with sowing them and they all germinated really well this year - at least it means I will be able to oik out the weaklings and just grow the 'big daddies' ;D
Wasn't it you who said 'never waste a plant'?
