a) I cannot believe that I am watching it.

OH watching it while I'm on here, Ray is very run of the mill, I've heard local pub singers just as good he's a one track pony, but Leona is a proper singer half the singers nowdays can't sing live. Win or lose she'll go on to bigger things but your right Ray will probably win and Simon will earn a fortune on top of his already fortune.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :-*

i'm so glad leona won. she's like the best singer that this country's ever had! lol.

go leona. but we all know her career's gonna be ruined by an all cover's album.

Ben was my favourite but he was ruined by soft song choices.

Leona's voice is outstanding and she very much deserved to win.  I would never buy her music because it's not my sort of thing but she should go far.

I liked Ray's voice but he defintely needs to stick to his own genre because his voice is too weak to sing other types of music.  He was a top guy though, so caring toward little Leona.

Nice to see common sense prevails with the general public after the stupid results of Steve Brookstein and Shane Ward over the past couple of years!

Never really watched it but Ben seemed a better choice to me. Ray just hs one of them faces that you want to shove in the manure pile. He is to corny for me.  :P

i bought her single online today. don't know what to think of it really. even though she sounds amazing on it.....i just think it's a dull song. and it's always gonna be kelly clarkson's song.

and also it's gonna take a little while for her to find her identity....but in her new single i can her bits of mariah, christina, celine, whitney and even leanne rymes. it's a bit allover the place.

i used to think that.....but it's interesting because normally it's a really crap show because it produces desposable people who are really crap and only won because of the sympathy vote by the grans and mums (no offence). it was all just crap really.

BUT....this year it's been the same crappy show but this girl who sings like whitney houston....and pulls off all the notes and stuff came into the competition and kicked everyone else's arse.

it's just a dream thing isn't it. i think a lot of us think we can sing when we're singing in the car or in the shower.....but who can say whether one day we'll have a £million contract because we're so good at singing and other people want to hear us sing!

I must admit I only watch about the last three programmes, can't stand the rest when all the rubbish is sorted. I do think that young lady will go far.

I'm not going to try and justify myself to anybody re watching the x-factor. It's a very entertaining programme and I love to watch it.  Same with Strictly Come Dancing.

Big rasperries to those who pretend to look down on it.  :)

Quite agree Sam, I certainly don't look down my nose at X factor but when I watched the first few programmes last year I got bored. I have watched a few of come dancing and I just say to myself I WISH!! Just like the music I enjoy, son thinks it is rubbish but he still downloads for me (bless him)

First few shows make the series,I'm with Moonbeam Leona she can sing to my pants anytime ;), no one mentioned the McDonald Brothers I quite liked them ;) .Silly Billy couldn't take his eyes off the show, Ktlawson seemed to know everyone in the show but hardly ever watched it, Valmarg's getting a Simon Cowell tattoo as we speak And finally Alishka I think you was a little unkind to Wahaj I think you'll find he won on a scratch card. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Oh definitely, Lorna.  The auditions go on and on and on, becoming a real bore in the end.  I start to really enjoy it from the bootcamp stage.

As for Strictly Come Dancing, I wonder how many ballroom classes get a boost this time of the year due to that show? LOL.  I too go a bit green with envy when I watch them, I'd love to be able to dance like that!

I was channel hopping at about 9.25pm between X Factor and Strictly.

Am I (and my mate on the east coast) the only two who thinks Leona shrieks ?

Love strictly come dancing, if all the girls look like that that do it I think I will have to sort myself some lessons out .  As for Leona it will be intresting to see where she is this time next year.

Little Ray was like a dolly!  And yes, quite fun singing swing, but rubbish on 'regular' tracks.  LOVED the MacDonald Bros.  Oh I would like both boys in my stocking please santa!  ;)  Leona is a mix of whitney and maria carey - not my personal cup of decaf, but I could see why everyone loved her so.

We watched it and thought Ray was so smarmy and very limited in his range.  Couldn't believe he even had the chance to win and much preferred Ben who was great!  Leona has a brilliant voice and I am so glad justice was done, and I hope that she has a bright career in front of her. busy_lizzie

I'm with you there KP - there were points in most songs where my ears were offended by the high notes!  And the chin-wobble-warbling bugged me too.  Don't get me wrong, she has a fantastic voice (for the most part!) and was far more talented (using this lightly - IMO talent is in the song writing, good singing in just genetics and a great oesophagus!) than the others.  But certainly not my bag.  I much preferred Ben (until he spoke - so didn't match his singing voice!) and even quite liked Ray.  But I suppose in the end the right person won in the sense that it is supposed to be a talent show.

And what did everyone think of them bringing on all the no-hoper's from the early auditions?  I was laughing away and then I suddenly thought, "gosh, these people might not realise that everyone is laughing at them..."  Can't decide if it was mean or not.  LOVED Edna though!  She rocked!
;D
(Phew, rant over! :o)

Sally no- hoper's was my favourite bit of the show I was laughing all the way because they don't realise they are crapp but at least they got up there and give it there all. Lizzie agree Ray has a limited range but don't think he was smarmy just built up his confidence over the weeks and was very confident by the final. EJ I've booked the MacDonald Bros for you at Christmas but they are too big for your stocking so I've ordered you a couple of jockstraps.  :) :) ;) ;) :D :D ;D ;D ;D ;D :-* :-*

Yes, also my favourite bit (my fear for thier mental wellbeing disappears when they are hopelessly out of tune!), but it is worrying to think that someone has told those people that they can sing!  Either they don't have very nice friends, or their friends are tone deaf too!

And if anyone was smarmy, it wasn't Ray it was the older MacDonald brother - all those cheesy "side glance and wink" into the camera!  Noooooo!

I loved the no-hopers segment.  and when wee sean came on and sang, AND got through it without bursting into tears, that set me off !! lol.

Whether they can or can't sing, they've got a lot more b@lls than i have by standing up there in front several million people and do what they love to do - sing ! (or not) lol.

I love the Witney songs, and that little stunt would have grabbed her the TT vote.

but i feared for my antique crystal display glasses (OK i haven't got any but you get the gist).

I thought Ray had a tad more personality than Leona who, and i quote my Embra mate, had the "personality of a stone".

If that's the future of British pop, then gawd help us all.
