But as said earlier, No1 Daughter keeps buying the things, so one has to find a way of using them before they pop their clogs!!
;D ;D ;D
top oven?
Noooo - grill!!
Gosh, there isn't mush room for any more on the skewers Tim!
Great for veggies, of course.
That was 'Indonesian' Spiced Rice, rather than the usual Middle Eastern.
U can invite me round any time tim, they look great and i love mushrooms!!!
Not even mushroom risotto with a bit of truffle oil, Tim?
You mean........
That'll do it :)
Risotto? No, not with common or garden ones, but I do do this.....

You're right - it's not the same unless you've got some interesting ones in there as well.
I do about 50:50 using my stash of dried ones (chanterelles etc), but also first cook the ordinary ones down really hard with a bit of black pepper and garlic before adding them.
At least you have good shopping in Barnes?
A couple of hundred yards from No1 Son & his lot!
It's pretty good - not the cheapest prices, but a pleasant shopping environment. Quite self contained because we have a good butchers, cheese shop and fish shop (now really good under it's new ownership) all on the same stretch of road. The greengrocer sold out to a housing developer but there's one up the other end of the "village". Mind you I tend to source the dried mushrooms and truffle oil elsewhere (friends abroad) since they're certainly no cheaper here than in the rest of the UK.
Have you seen our allotments then - behind the church?
No - I'll look out for you next time I visit Cambridge Road!
Mushies are fantastic!
Spent last weekend in Scotland and managed to pick a load of chanterelles- v.strange season, these should have been finished a while ago. Also, tonnes and tonnes of blewitts still around. With a dash of fresh truffle, the blewitts make an excellent risotto…. ;D
Truffle
Ok Tim - we're on allotment No.100 (Barn Elms allotments).
