I have an Imperialis Alba in the back garden that has finally got to flower bud stage, but I'm worried that the cold weather is going to kill them off before they 'pop'.
Does anyone know if I can cut the bud stems off, put them in a vase and they'll still develop and open into gorgeous white flowers indoors???????
This is the first year they've got this far and I really don't want to lose them now!
Any help appreciated
John :)
as far as i'm aware, you shouldn't cut any flower at the bud stage. once the bud looks like it's about to open or it's started to open, then you have a chance that it'll open once cut. but if you cut it before the bud's properly developed, it wont open.
