You will probably have heard of this before but just in case you aint. I saw this today it was a drain pipe fastened onto the back of a shed and the canes were just pushed into it. Mine will be tacked onto the back of the compost heap cos I haven't got a shed. I could use our Bunjy's shed but it might fall over with the weight pmsl
Will pinch this idea and use it tomorrow ;)
OO what a good idea! One of the regulars passed on this tip - in winter (with nothing better to do ;)) find a milk or other tall bottle and pour in some (organic) wood preservative. Dip in the 'ground' ends of the canes in one by one, and leave to dry. He reckons his canes have lasted more than 20 years with care :)
Just shows I have no imagination!! I just put mine in bundles and hang them on one of the long sides in the garage (inside) The garage is 20' x 10' ft so still leaves plenty of room for my old banger.
Thanks for the tip. Mine are now stored in a cut apart 5 litre water bottle nailed to the side of the shed with their bases stood in preservative contained in the cut off base :).
;) Simple but effective Shirlton will get right on to it. ;D ;D
