We managed to find someone to deliver a load of manure for £30 and also some straw bales. It's all happening next week. Bunjy's shed is coming along well. She's painting it the weekend. We have managed to clear the bramble at the top of the plot and today Tony's going to get his new jig saw to make the compost heaps for me. Will update you with pics soon.
Fantastic shirlton, it's a wonderful feeling to have manure and straw in erm, spades ;D
;D If you told me a year ago I would be walking around a pile of manure with a big smile on my face I would have had you certified, better get it all dug in and stop looking at it I suppose ;D ;D ;D ;D
Sorted mine about a month ago!
;D
:D Question : do you dig it right in, turn it over slightly or lay it on top and let the weather and worms do their bit. Please say number three I'm a lazy git.

i put it on beds i have just dug potatoes out of so the active worms have something to do.
Went back last week and you cant really see the lumps any more so the worms are working well
Yes it's number 3. I have found that spreading the muck on the top keps the soil nice and moist and suppresses the weeds too. I do tend to put it in the bean and sweet pea trenches and on the top. I just love manure.
;D ;D Like your style shirlton. ;D ;D ;D ;D :-*

Ooohhhh I know - when my daughter used to ride I just thought it was nasty smelly stuff! Now if I see it on the road - I think - what a waste!
