Newbie in soft fruit here :P ;) three fine goosegog plants arrived from Dobies yesterday: Invicta, Hinnonmaki Yellow and Pax ;D
Could anyone offer advice on planting distance between bushes? I've read everything from 3 to 5 ft. Any special treatment for planting holes/soil?
They are one year plants - should I prune them after planting, or let them go for the first year, and do you think will they bear fruit in 2007?
If you grow any of these varieties, tips on special treatment?
Hope someone can help - I'd like to get them in at the weekend (weather permitting!) ::)
I don;t have an answer for you, supersprout but I have another gooseberry question.
I have just taken over an allotment which has lots of established gooseberry plants. they look as though they need cutting back or pruning. How should I tackle this?? ???
some pruning answers here cacran ;)

I have a growers handbook on my site that should answer most questions on fruit growing. This link will take you to the soft fruit growing advise.
