Hi All, quick question: i have loads of sedums (one's with the red heads on) and they are starting to die off because of the cold weather, do you all cat them down and cover with compost over winter, or do you leave the stems and seeds top for the (any) birds to feed on over winter, them tidy them up in spring time,
thanks

Hi Windy!
I love sedums ;D
Mine are dying off now as well and I'm going to cut them right back. I always put the seed-heads on the compost so if the birds want them they can have them!
I never cover mine - they seem quite hardy.

I just leave mine because I think they look lovely with the frost on and cut them down in the spring. Sorry!

Yeah I leave mine an all. Just laziness with me tho' :D
Cut ours off, mainly because otherwise we are buried under seedlings all over the place.
I'm a leaver - lazy yes, and they look fab in the winter.
