Although one season doesn't nessesaraly lead into the next seamlessly as it used to when we were kids, we still have time to do the main topics of the season-- this spring although wet and cold, still saw the buds and leaves on the trees, things were a little late in the garden, but that happens every now and again--summer, hot and dry, bit of a challenge to anything we grew which was still alive! but the trees still had leaves on... Autumn, well 'tis a bit late, like spring, but now it has got into full swing the leaves are coming off the trees...Winter all I can say is there will be frosts, hail, sleet and snow. Things will go on just as they please and how they have always done for millennia.
That's the way it is.... still waiting for the return of the Frost Fairs on the Thames.........
;D
All the leaves have suddenly vanished off the ash tree outside my window, leaving bare branches with seeds hanging off them. They'll fall too before long.
My willow is still in full green leaf! And there is a cherry tree around the corner in full bloom!!
However, yes, very autumnal now and I love it!
We are surrounded by the most incredible autumn colours.......very beautiful. (Haven't planted my crocuses yet ....and daren't look at the calendar) CLx
We too are surrounded by trees either bare or with the most beautiful coloured autumnal leaves. It is cold and windy and yesterday was very wet. The garden is full of leaves and I feel guilty I am not out there raking them up for leaf mould, but I am so glad autumn is here. People have been grumbling about the weather, but I like it, as it is how it should be. :D busy_lizzie
