but thats tropical
Given the weather it might be something that you would not normaly see fruit?
What happens if you chop one in half?
looks like a quince growing through a blackberry
Good thinking - but is that a current photo?
It's a very small bush. No leaves now (mixed in with Aquilegia & S. William). I'm sure it's not a quince.Tried to resize pic. but it's gone. I'll cut one in half & post.

I reckon saddad has it(before the photo disappears again).
After a 'google, it has all the features.
As it's fruited well this year, I'm definitely going to make some jelly again!
The small bush has been in the front garden since before we moved in, & that's 28 yrs..
medlar?
Not medlar. It does look lkke a quince.
Def. not a Medlar... Dep P gave me some... quite nice...
::)
Looks very like this picture of a quince
Thanks All,
I think the vote is with the Japanese Quince!
Want some Jelly?
Jealous! I wants a quince tree!! ;D
I made a very refreshing cordial with my Japanese quince by not boiling it to the jelly stage. Diluted with water it is sharp and delicious.
Finally got round to making some jelly.
Only produced two 1lb. jars but the vote from the neighbours is:
WOW!!!
