Title: Another daft newbie question!!
Post by: Sparky on April 18, 2004, 16:57:43
Just been having a look at an organic gardening book and it recommends using a 'soap-based' insecticide.  What is it and where do you get it from, or does it just mean soapy water? ??? :-[ ???

Look at the Organic Catalogue - or make up your own?

PS Why do folk think that questions are daft? Every answer you get will inform more than just you.

Very true, Tim.  I've been working on allotments for quite a number of years and can't believe the number of tips and answers I've picked up on this site especially.  There are always different ways of doing things as well which are good to try out.

Keep asking Sparky - we all learn!

What makes me feel daft is the amount of knowledge that some people have about gardening, growing things and different ways around problems.  Ive been gardening for many years, have read countless books and in the last year or so have visited many different web sites.  However I havent grown veggies before apart from tomatoes or the odd cucumber...so when I ask what appears an easy question I feel daft.  :-\ My motto though is "better ask a daft question than make a daft mistake" so I would never hesitate to ask.  Especially here  ;D

Well said - but I would never feel the least bit daft asking when to prune a rhododendron, or whether Silver Queen holly is female. Because it isn't!! Nor is Golden King a chap!! = Tim
