Is it just me that thinks the weather is far to mild for the time of year? spent most of the day on the plot today, only wore a fleece from 9 - 10 then again from 4 - 5 ish, want doing anything too physical either, 5 rows of garlic, 2 rows of onions, a row of shallots and 4 rows of broad beans. If it doesn't cool down a bit I shall be harvesting in Feb :)
Regards
Matt
It was frosty here in Essex at the start of the week, but yesterday and today have been magnificent! I worked this morning, and had a lot of digging to do and it felt like a summers day!
Hope it keeps it up for the weekend. It never gets really cold as I remember it, eg snow on the first seven mornings in May (79).... having to push the car as the oil was so solid Honeymoon (Feb 85)... got down to -15 ish. Mind not living 800' up in the Pennines probably helps more than global warming!
we're supposed to be getting a really cold night tonight, according to eric, 84, been on the allotments for 40 years so I've covered everything with fleece
Didn't realise that you were on the same site as Eric!
Mind he will remember the Winter of 62-63... and the really bad winter of 46-47....
My dad was slightly older born in 1920.... but died in Jan 84.
:(
do you have an eric too ?
No but I know Palustris (Eric) from another web site!
;D
different eric then, :)
Sorry... :-[
