Title: Suprise Spinach
Post by: cornykev on November 06, 2006, 18:26:29
After clearing up old plants I discovered ten or so spinach plants, thinking they were weeds I pulled them out leaving two of the biggest so I could ask other Lotty's what they were. After a few days I could see by the shiny leaves they wasn't weeds, spinach I was told by my neighbour but I never planted any. So my question is will it keep growing, can I move it, will it come again next year and what is the best way to cook it.

May the corn be with you.

every plot I've ever taken on has had a couple of 'rogue' (and very much appreciated) leaf beet. If they're leaf beet the leaves will be quite big and shiny, and they will last outside all winter. Have you got a pic kev to help spot exactly what they might be? SSx

Like most leaves add butter and just lightly sweat... add ginger or whatever takes your fancy to add zest...
