Good morning all

This weekend I have begun lifting chicory for forcing, the roots are EXTREMELY forked, has this happened to others and does it affect the chicons.

chicory roots can get huge and do all sorts of things but don't worry about it, just pot up again (or leave in situ if you can provide enough darkness) and all will be fine - it is a wonderful winter salad

Mine have been like triffids before, I just trim them to fit the pots with no probs!

I have some sugarloaf and red outside but haven't done the forcing thing..
