Last year, failed miserably at Celeriac. :'(
Success at spuds, peas, beans (french & runners), parsnips, carrots, sweetcorn, onions, garlic, shallots, scorzonera, salsify, white sprouting broccoli, mini savoy cabbage, mini cauliflowers, red brussels sprouts, red cabbages, Jerusalem artichoke, lettuce, leeks, tomatoes... ;D
last year failed at:
Rocket (sowed too late, so bolted)
broad beans (had enough for one small portion - plants smothered in black fly)
radish (I think the slugs got em!)
My parsnips (my favourite veg) are still not germinating, but I live in hope.
This list will probably be a lot longer next year!
Remember to pinch the tops off the beans when the pods start to form/set.. that should be a help. I forgot I grew those (but I did buy in the plants) last year. This year, overwintering ones doing very well.
Radish - well, had success with that but failed to get round to eating it.
I did have a couple of short rows of one variety of parsnip. Another variety I sowed last year was weeded out (all but one) by my darling husband :o
According to Hessayon, parsnips take between 10-28 days to germinate. Still haven't got ours in yet either.
I think I was a bit slow with the pinching out last year. Also got the borad beans in the ground rather late.
Fortunately Mr Aqui knows better than to do any weeding!
Aqui-never mind if the rocket bolts- the flowers taste great.
My soil is too light for good sprouts or caulis and those who know me from ages back------bl**dy spring onions are still my `Bette Noir` here.

I've yet to have a decent crop of carrots and don't get me started on parsnips!
Had a go at Sweetcorn last year. They got to about 1 foot and stopped.
The corn started to grow but then went black.
Having another go this year but the ones I started in the greenhouse haven't done anything.
Still learning, one day I will get it right.

Every year there is something, but caulis are the most touch and go, seldom being that perfect hard round drum head.
One year they were great but hadn't done anything different and the next year back to the old usual.
Spring onions, they sound so easy but oh boy do I fail. Trying carrots again this year but thats it never again if I don't get something this year, so exasperating!

I forgot about florence fennel - it just bolted, but there was a nice fragrance...
Since we moved abt 5 yrs ago I havnt been able to grow cucumbers in the greenhouse. They seem to rot off at the soil level. I am growing them the same method as before, didnt have any problems prior to moving. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

sweetcorn. Never ever been able to grow it more than a few inches tall. This year I will do it, you wait and see, I will succeed. :-\
never been successful with carrots in the allotment, but I now grow them in tubs in my garden - this seems to work well - I do find though it's hard to throw things away when thinning out!
SPROUTS!!! No luck whatsoever with the blighters and Broccoli as well. Hate to say it but my sweetcorn grew several feet high and I've still got a couple of cobs in the freezer from last year. Onions were a bit small. My runner beans could have fed the entire population of Lincoln and (sorry again) my parsnips were monsters!
Greens - (except some purple sprouting broccoli one year)
My soil is very thin (on chalk) so I've just taken delivery of 4 cu yds of rotted FYM.
I'll dig in loads of that and try again.
I have difficult getting carrots and parsnips to germinate most years - just after I sow the weather is either too hot, cold or wet - last year it was my third sowing that eventually succeeded.

I've already mentioned cauliflower but after reading Phil's comment I have to agree that although we think we cracked the problem of carrot fly (covering and leaving environet in place) the big problem is getting them to germinate in the first place! Always have to fill in spaces in rows at least a couple of times in each row - have done it so often over the yerars that now I think that's natural and of course it's not!
Carrots and spring onions :o So nice to know I am not alone............ :'( But I will try, try, try again! DP
Oh and I forgot to mention, any brassica cos I have clubroot :( but hoping my new area will be clubroot free! ;D
Last year we failed at carrots (yes another one), parsnips never came up, and caulis and cabbages were eaten by slugs. Have planted carrots and parsnips again this year (crossing my fingers). Brussel sprouts did well, though they were covered in white fly. Doing cabbages again this year and trying some broccoli. The thing that did brilliantly on our plot were beetroot - lots and lots of it. ;D busy_lizzie
