Title: Wasps again
Post by: Paulines7 on November 01, 2006, 21:47:28
We had two large wasp nests in the loft of a single storey extention.  This picture shows the larger of the two but the other one was still fairly big.  The council came and sprayed a couple of months ago as the wasps were getting into the house.  My OH decided to remove the nests last week as we were sure they were dead.  They didn't have any life in them but we still have hundreds of wasps outside around the apple and pear trees, feasting on the windfalls.   Perhaps the frost that has been forecast for tonight will get rid of them.   ;D

Flipping heck! I have a solitary nest in my shed... aboutthe size of a tennis ball. If it shows anysigns of growing it's going!

Crikey Pauline. Never knew they could be that big. Hope you soon are clear of them.
Lorna.

Fascinating to examine. We had one in the roofspace when we moved here.

We didn't actually open it up, Emaggie, just in case it had something inside.   :-\
