But 2.5kg is fine for a snack!!
We managed to beat the 'pillars this year.
Lucky you Tim, my mouth is watering! I'm having a terrible problem growing cabbage/swede etc due to the dreaded swede midge/fly tried caging but still got in!! too much effort! wish I could sample your beauty!!!!
what a brilliant looking thingy (head ?) .......... I almost wish I was trying some next year, but just have't got room. :'(
Fabbie pic tim.
I've got some like that Tim, and Tundra and reds, it's the spring cabbage which have grown into monsters that I'm worried about... sudden change no time to harden up...
???
That's actually Tundra, Dad. And our Red are doing fairly well, but got hit by 'pillars.
Nice looking cabbage Tim, if it had a red tint to it ,it would remind me of the variety January King which, I consider one of the most underrated cabbages.
Seconded Richard, we LOVE January King, standing there all through the winter :)
Great looking cabbage, I'm gonna try some new varieties next year now I will have more room. I do love the spring cabbage though, My favourite cabbage is hispi. At the moment my spring cabbage is massive. The rabbits have been feeding off the outer leaves for ages. I just hope that the hearts don't get ruined.
I think that the frost will have seen ours off!!
Fingers crossed Tim, it should warm up a bit towards the weekend...
will need to check the reds and bring some in.
::)
