Title: Remains of courgettes
Post by: caroline7758 on October 30, 2006, 16:50:57
My courgette plants have come to an abrupt end. the leaves have gone grey and crispy, although the fruiting part is still green and I picked a couple of fruits today. I'm guessing this is caused by mildew- is it ok to put the leaves on the compost? Also found my first eaten courgette- all the skin nibbled off & someholes in the middle. Wonder who the culprit might be?

I bung all the squash plants on the compost heap.  I believe mildew is almost inevitable on the beasts.  As for munching....slugs and snails can be a pain - plus once there is a hole, or some damage, I have found woodlice (or choogypegs as we know them) living inside the hole!
