The Daily Telegraph reported that the French have sold out of violet garlic (l#ail violet de Cadours). It is menat to be a gourmet delight and very good for long storage.
Is anyone growing it on their allotment?
We picked up a 5kg bag of it while we were over there. Some of it might find its way on to the allotment if it doesn't all get eaten first!
No idea I'm afraid. Is this going to lead to strikes, then?
I hate to be stereotypical here, but even the French people I know agree that, as a nation, they just love an excuse to go on strike! If so then I'll be most disappointed if one of the tabloids doesn't come up with the headline "Violent garlic..."
Sorry. I've been for a coffee, had a rather serious conversation and now it appears I have my silly hat on. ;D
I've got violets on my allotment and garlic ... do I count?
Alright, alright it's heartsease and garlic really ... but I look vaguely mediterranean so that must count?
I misread and thought it said VIOLENT garlic!!!! ;D ;D
Is that the sort that is so strong it grabs you by the throat!!!
