Title: Cheap Cristo Garlic?
Post by: Tora on October 30, 2006, 10:52:25
I saw Christo garlic (3 bulbs for 1.99) at my local garden centre a couple of weeks ago but couldn't buy it because I didn't have money on me then. I went back to the garden centre yesterday only to find they are sold out. :(

I heard Christo is a long dormancy garlic and the best kind for storing until spring, which is what I'm after. I found Thompson & Morgan has it but quite expensive...

Does anybody know where I could find Christo cheap?
I know Wilko will have some garlics in spring but can't remember which varieties they usually have...

Thanks

Thanks Phil. I checked ebay and found a few listings for Cristo.
Postage is 1.99 so I'll still keep searching for a cheap place to buy, just in case! :)

King's Autumn Seed Catalogue has 2 types of garlic on the back cover: 3 bulbs- red (£2.25) and white (£1.95). When I rang to enquire, they said the red was called Red Lady and the white was White Carmen. Postage is £1. It's not Christo but it's cheap.  ;)

Thanks :)

Both King's and Mr Fothergill sound good!

I had no difficulty finding something to buy from Mr Fothergill. I'm going to order Elephant garlic and Solent Wight.  ;D

I might order garlics from King's as well since I could do with some more (yes, I love garlic) and they are cheap. :D
