We took on a nother plot today next to our babby (Bunjy aka Tracy) Looks like a field at the mom but they are gonna spray it this autumn then rotovate it in Feb. All for free. The plots only costing us £10.50 for the year as well. Can't be bad. I will take some pics when I go . I'm soooooooo chuffed
what a bargain, ours costs 25.00 to the miserable club and 25.0 to the association, mond you, that's only just short of £1.00 per week so, if you look at it like that ?
yay@shirlton!
what are you going to grow? ::)
more plot means we can enjoy space-intensive treats like artichokes and fruit bushes :)
look forward to the pics! ;D
Get the wallet ready again Tony ;D Cor I bet Tracy loves the idea of having Ma and Pa
on the next plot. Don't forget the pics, you know how we like to see how things go.
Lorna.
Woke up this mornin and guesss what was the first thing I thought of. Yes you got it my (sorry) our new plot. I just love it when folks get excited about the same thing as me. After having just 1/2 a plot it's gonna be absolute heaven. A huge blank canvas to start on. It's gonna take a lot of restraint to wait until February before I can start planting.I'm really looking forward to growing some big stuff that makes a statement. The cardooms I got from Emma wll have a place of honour. The chap who lets out the plots ,well his house backs onto the site and he said he will sort the muck delivery out and everything. I feel like I've landed in allotment heaven. Forgive me for rambling but I'm so excited. And guess what we can even take the little campervan right up to the plot.
Well heres the pics of the new plot
Those brambles went back about 12 ft. Got to go tomorrow and do some more. Will have a big bonfire on Saturday.
That's a MEADOW shirlton! :o
So many of us would feel daunted by the expanse of grass and bramble but oh no ... ;)
The grass looks very healthy - fingers crossed there's really good stuff underneath :)
Looking forward to the next instalment ;D
I do love a challenge, don't you
they only wanna steal my lovely fruit and veg i'll have next year ;D :P
tracy
Lordy ! Good luck, that's some challenge
Going again today to clear the rest of the brambles and then it's a case of waiting for the GC man to spray it and then rotovate it in Feb. I do like to dig myself but at our age we have to be sensible. The only weeds on there are a few docks so nothing thats gonna reproduce a hundred fold like marestail thank goodness. We will be able to grow a lot more varietiy next year. Not only that we will be able to allow a bit more room between the poor plants. On our half plot they are shoulder to shoulder lol.
OMG thats what you call a forest!! you are brave taking on a plot lioke that
Went up the plot today at 10.30am and left at 4.00pm. Finished cutting the brambles down and managed to burn it all. Our Tracy came at dinnertime and brought us some fish and chips. Did we enjoy them or what. All that greasy batter. Naughty but nice. Have just had to put our clothes in the washer cos they were full of smoke. I have enjoyed getting back into the swing of things after having me bad arm. It still gives me gip if I overdo it but I still try. I was telling a chap on the plot about this site so maybe we will have a newbie. Thanks foor all the encouragement
Hey Shirl! Just catching up on all the posts......great one! And that's your exercise for your arm sorted, then :D What happened to the sheds Bunjy found, btw?
Well Alishka we have sewn the seed now we just have to wait for Tony to kid himself that it was his idea. The two sheds are on the overgrown plot right opposite us so everytime we go up there he will be reminded. Not only that there are some metal poles that the siteman said he could have ,Now I don't think Tony's the type of chap who would be selfish enough to get them for himself and leave the sheds, Do you???????????
They sprayed the allotments for us today. Just a case of waiting for it to take effect.
well folks our bunjy phoned me this morning to tell me that the council had been and rotovated our new allotment.Just waiting for a break in the weather and I'm up there sorting out a compost heap. First things first eh! The gaffer on the site gets the muck for you for £25 a load. Hope he can get me some soon. I'm also gonna get some straw bales to make me pathsI think straw looks beatiful on the paths. Tony's gonna be busy for a bit. (keep him out of mischief.) I just hope that Bunjy's gonna let me share her shed for a bit till I get something sorted. I'm so excited, I can't wait to see it.

your council/gaffer don't hang about do they?
remember to give Tony Xmas day off lol ;)
Only if he's a good boy
Shirl. Only thing is if you are cooking the Christmas dinner Tony will just get bored sitting around. He will probably plead with you to let him go to the allotment ;D
oh, I thought he'd get the day off to cook the Christmas dinner :-[ ??? ;)
Supersprout. I don't think Tony will speak to us if he reads our posts ;D ;D ;D
I'm so glad that he knows his place. No seriously he's a good fella. He knows I'm rather impulsive (just now and again) so he has to put his foot down sometimes for my own good. We are off to the dentist again today, but I'm ok with it now I know that I'm gonna be sedated. Have good day everyone
