Actually I had a question after reading the banana skin thread...
Maybe someone else have a question on what can be composted.
We have a bag of old popcorn kernels (not the microwave kind). They're no good for popping anymore. I was talking to my housemate about these and she didn't think I could compost them.
Is this true?
I think I would 'pop' them (any way you think fit), and then put them on the compost heap. They may not be suitable for edible popcorn, but I think they would compost down more readily 'popped' than left as kernels!

or pulverised. Anything organic will compost, even sisal string, given time :)
I wouldn't bother even popping them... what's the worst that could happen? They germinate... allow to grow to a foot or so and cut back as green manure and chuck back in!
