It's finally happened and I don't know what to do with myself. After twelve wonderful years we've had to have our beloved dog put to sleep. An alsation cross great dane, he filled up the house with his hair and our hearts with his love. The house is now too empty and too quiet. We've got lots of photos and videos but it's still not the same as having his great, slobbering face pushed into ours first thing in the morning (oh god!!!....his breath!!!!!).
I find myself acting as though he's still there, and still expect to hear the sound of his paws scrabling on the floor as he races into the kitchen at the speed of light to pick up the crumb of food he heard you drop, even if I didn't hear it drop.
May he rest in peace
I am sure I won't be the only person to say I am thinking of you at the moment, it is the time every pet owner dreads as they get older. Just remember the good times, and your dog has been so lucky to have you as an owner. Words are no good are they! Take care. T.
:'(
I agree Tulippa, words really are not enough sometimes.
My thoughts are with you Carrot
carrot-cruncher. Our dogs are family and to lose a pet is to lose a member of our family. Your dog like thousands of others enjoyed his life with you and left you with wonderful memories.
Kind thoughts winging their way to you.

A bit late, but just wanted to say I know how you feel. Our dog died 2 months ago and I still expect to see her in the kitchen when I come down in the morning- they just become so much a part of your life. Hugs from me. xx
So sorry to hear about your dog CC. My thoughts are with you. :'(
Sorry to hear about your dog CC. It's hard when we have to decide to let our little friends go, but you had the courage and love to let your dog go when the time came. Bless you xxxx
