Want to buy Electric handheld vacuum cleaner,so any small dirt or dog hair can be picked up ,without getting our Upright Dyson out.Liked new Dyson handheld at £99.99, but what put me off, it only works for 5 mins,then needs recharging for 3hrs--are all electric Handheld like this ? ?
Anybody out there, whoose got a good handheld vacuum cleaner and is their`s any good ? ?
Try one of these, they last for ages, you can do your bit towards global warming and not feel quilty when you fly away on holiday. ;D Handheld/rechargable= useless

Years ago I bought a Black & Decker one. Twas OK.Batteries held their charge & hand-held held the batteries - til I dropped it ::)
Didn't bother to buy a replacement. Tell you what, tho...have you tried asking on your local Freecycle?

A few weeks ago, I saw that they were selling hand held vaccies in Tchibo for £15.00. Cheap as chips!!

still around at this time of year -- well, perhaps not since this a.m. when the two I found got a quick introduction to the vacuum ;D
About a year or so ago we went to John Lewis to get a replacement for the re-chageable vacuum we had which was pretty rubbish, particularly for pet hairs. We were going to buy the most powerful available. However, the "man in the shop" said they weren't powerful enough & recommended a Black & Decker Dustbuster mini-vac which we bought. It had come top in some survey or consumer test. Although it is a plug in it does have a long lead & we find it brilliant for the cats fur that is always on the settee.
I have a dirt devil thingy from Instore ( can't remember the other name they trade under as well) for about a tenner. It's fine for sucking up ash from the fireplace but wouldn't do for pet hairs. Think it may be a case of you have to pay for decent wattage to cope with them. You could get a smaller vac for less than £100 that's easier to handle than the Dyson ( mind you, most things are easier to handle than a Dyson - I was weight training just to be able to get mine up the stairs - thankfully ex got custody so I bought one I could lift)
I've got one I'm thinking of throwing away....black and decker, I've hardly ever used it but wasn't that impressed. It was about £20 quite a long time ago. Not very powerful and the charge didn't last very long.
