I remember him doing a sauce to go with PBS and sold it in Covent Garden Market . I've searched his site and BBC's but no luck. Does any of you kind sole's have the cookbook and be prepared to let me have the recipe please.
I picked alot of broccoli yesterday and thought the sauce would go nice.
I've got the book, the river cottage year, if it's purple sprouting boccoli, there are" ten ways to enjoy purple sprouting broccoli, all different sauces
let me know if you want them all mal :D
Thanks Mal - I'm going to try the library tomorrow if there is ten if they don't have it i'll come back to you for a a couple.
Saw this title in Lincoln branch of the Works today £5-99 I think
Managed to get both books from the library on Tuesday but he doesn't really give the recipes that he did on the TV not very helpful really. Had the brocolli another way now anyway. Books were quite interesting though.
out of interest there is a new HFW (my hero!) series on Nov 2 on C4
HFW was our inspiration to get an allotment but he is way too commercial now, seems to be doing exactly what he tried to escape from in the 1st place.I dread the HFW days on 1 of the sky tv channels as OH has to sky+ them and watch everyone of them again!!
We met him at our local garden centre and got him to sign all the books.Seems like a really down to earth fella unlike Jamie Oliver grrrrrrrr I detest that man.
Glow Yes I saw that when I picked up next weeks TV guide, looks interesting.
Out of interest would you eat garden snails like he says in his book?

I'll stick anything in my mouth ;)
Life, as far as I am concerned, is about experience. If you never try something you dont know what you've missed.
I have a mental list of things I wont try again. :-X
What really annoys me is when the kids wont try something and you virtually have to tie them down and force feed them (or threaten to turn the TV off) to get them to try something like asparagus. They usually say "I don't like that" before tasting it. Then after tasting it they decide they like it so much my portion is drastically reduced!
HFW is a god but I hate the commercialism now. Have a look at the cost of the fishing days - something Id love to do for my 40th birthday but £450 is a tad dear for two people!

I was looking the other day at there cooking for children and thats £95 for 1 adult and child and additional children £85 i'd need a bank loan. Also HFW wouldn't be there either so whats the point.
I'm thinking about cooking some snails said to Hubby and he said No I won't but I wonder if he will change his mind. I'm going to try those pigs ears recipe in his book as thet are cut up and covered in bread crumbs so you wouldn't know. I must admit my children aren't bad really when it comes to food, one just loves veg so I don't have to much of a problem just the little pest can be silly.
