Heehee! Know the feeling.. ::)
Just looked on the website, looks good and who can resist at £1 a packet! Doesn't mention delivery prices though, I might drop them a note to ask...
Anyone ordered from them?
;D
It looks like p&p is £1 which seems very good to me
well that was worthwhile, easy to order a tenner's worth of basic Italian seed :D
since pumpkin seeds keep for years, the marina di chioggia looks like good value ::)
:( I always feel a little uncomfortable with internet business's that use only email address's and mobile telephone numbers :-\
agree Roy, will let you know what arrives in the post :P ::)

That goes for anything i dont hire workmen on the same basis.
I had the same thought so that's why I wondered if anyone had already used them. I thought I might order just a couple and see if they arrive before splurging out! They do use Paypal as their secure payment processor though, so that's comforting?
Just to be different (something new?) - I always support our own English small family businesses - they have some very good stuff.
Good point Tim. I've used about 10 different ones so far in just one year, including the allotment shop! Not sure which are small / family owned businesses though.
Judging by the 'about' section on their site this Company is a small UK based business, but that could just be a sales pitch?
Anyway I've put in a small order: it's my fault this started so I should be one of the guinea pigs :)
:o we're really living on the edge barnowl ;) ;D
Well I've joined you! so shove up a bit you two!! ;) Does seem odd that there's no address, but then if what s/he says is true then it's a first "shot" at doing this. Think I'll keep an eye on my Paypal account for a few days though :o :o just in case!
Seeds arrived today. Not as fast as some, but faster than others! At this stage the only other thing I can say is that the packets are pretty :D
PS Most are use by 2008 but some are 2007.
Thanks for the link - I might find my aubergine yet !! ;)
Mine arrived this morning too, along with the order from olde worlde Thomas Etty :)
Two very different branding choices - and both so lovely I had to take a snap

thanks Barnowl, I'll definitely be using this company again :D :D
I've got mine too as well as as nice note from Julian saying sorry they'd run out of the Fagiolo Borlotto I'd asked for so he's substituted the Borlotto Nano. Also put in another 2 packets of seeds by way of apology. Seems like a good deal to me!
They look so good I just can't wait to get them planted now!
Does seem like a long time before next season. Time to start collecting loo rolls me thinks. ;D
Thanks for the link to the Italian site and also to Thomas Etty - what a superb catalogue and beautiful packets. I would love to find some of those in my Christmas stocking ;D
Mine arived today too! Ohhhhhhhhhh I LOVES it when the seeds start to come through my letterbox! ;D
Just looked at the website & they do look good but what does determinate or indeterminate mean when applied to tomatoes?
determinate (bush) = has a determined height - bush variety, sideshoots don't need pinching out, only needs light support if at all
indeterminate (cordon) = will grow forever to a great height, sideshoots need pinching out and plant needs support
I spent 25 years of my gardening life thinking it was intermediate :-[ ::)
Thank you SS. Another gardening mystery solved! ???
Yes, Barnowl - & things change. Like T&M are back to independence.
As to the small family ones, one can find a dozen or so but, of course, none have the variety & printing capability of the big boys.
Whatever ones views , this is valid...??
"Along with the growth in the allotment movement, and the increasing popularity of gardening, there have emerged many small independent seed companies. Many of these are active in seed conservation and encouraging diversity. They often offer organic and open pollinated varieties of seeds as opposed to hybrids. Many of these varieties are heirloom varieties. The use of old varieties will continue to maintain diversity in the horticultural gene pool. There is a good case for amateur gardeners to use older (heirloom) varieties as the modern seed types are often the same as those grown by commercial producers, and so characteristics which are useful to them (e.g. vegetables ripening at the same time) may be unsuited to home growing"
Although not Italian the website for Plants of Distinction is now open...
www.plantsofdistinction.co.uk they have about two hundred different tomatoes on offer, most with colour pics.... my wife says I have been drooling on the keyboard...
