Title: garlic wanted
Post by: thewoodle on October 17, 2006, 16:10:06
I can't get garlic in any of the garden centres near me. Does anyone have any they'd swap??

I have cucumber seed, cauliflower, hispi cabbage, dwarf beans, tomatoes, rocket and a few other bits and bobs.

Thanks so much.

I buy the organic at the supermarket for planting. It sprouts faster without the chemicals.

It works out cheaper for me I believe and my local supoermarket aways has it.

How many bulbs or cloves do you need?  I've some leftover, but not a lot.  Happy to post them to you if you're still in need.

The stuff you get from the supermarket or greengrocer should grow, but you will probably get quite small bulbs.

Still worth a try though if nothing else is available.

I do have a couple of bulbs left though if anyone wants em ... I'd be happy to swap for squash or punkin seeds.  I think it only fair that thewoodle has first refusal on my garlic though  ;D

Thanks very much Wellingtons, actually MattyJC just offered me some bulbs, so if anyone else wants yours I think that would be fair. If I need more, I'll give some organic supermarket ones a try. Thanks ever so much again, I didn't think I'd get any offers, let alone two!
