I hope to put a shed on my allotment, but cannot decide what sort to buy. I have been looking at the small metal ones in Argos. I only need to put a few tools, and bits and bobs in it. Can anyone comment.
I should have to pay someone to put it up, so any infomation about bases ect would be most welcome.
Small metal ones are so easy to break into and so difficult to repair, small wooden ones, easy to tip over unless you anchor them down really well. :o
A larger shed with a wooden base is more sound and roomier for when it rains and you can all snuggle up togevver ;D
;D
The thing is...sheds are a funny thing. You think you only need to put a few "bits and bobs" in it, then it rains and it would be nice to have a chair to sit on. Then you get some fleece, and some more pots, and trays for seedlings, wellies, boots, dry socks, tins with things in which "will come in handy one day" and it goes on...
My advice is to buy the biggest one you can afford!
;)
I've got an old metal electrical cabinet (about the size of a fridge/freezer) with a massive chain and lock wrapped around it. I salvaged it from a supermarket refit. Although i might upgrade to a shed soon...
I would agree get a decent sized one, just got a belter for the allotment its actually a 15x 8 walk in coldstore, so should be secure as hell just a few alterations to pitch the roof and should be nice and warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
