Hi I was just interested how many lady plotters there are, that use this site, if you could leave your name and where you are it would be great. Also this is not some sort of pick up line,I am genuinly interested. I await you replies
:o
Lots! Read the threads on almost any subject and you will see! There may be lots of ladies on here...cannot count myself amongst them, although I am definitely female ;)
thanx katy
I'm a laydee. ;)
I'm NOT! If you look in profiles, & see it, great. If not, they don't want you to know??
Genuwine earth-diggin', weed-killin', rock carryin', delicate flower of a laydee.
I am too. And my plot is bordered on three sides by three other female allotmenteers.

Well, I'm a woman, but that's a different animal.
I'm not but OH is and about a third of our site (175 plots) are... female at least!
;D
Women and allotments, thats like women and driving ;D
They are good at it ;) ;) :P :P
last time i checked i was ;)
but i dont have a plot so i dont know if i count......
I am too :-)
I'm not, but I have been in touch with my feminine side ;D
There seems to be more ladies than gents pottering about on the allotments. I expect they have more spare time than us :D
Don't know about MORE spare time !! I think that we women folk have so much to do that we organise our spare time more efficiantly. :)

;D ;D ;D
I am a girlie, but most definately not a lady! ;)
OH YES. YES. YES yes, women have much more time to enjoy life at the plot than men. Afterall, women enjoy doing things, not just sitting in front of a telly watching football, down the pub moaning, hitting a golf ball around and then having to exagerate about how many times you hit it before you got it in a hole what other reasons are there girls........?????
I am a lady plotter too. I don't have spare time though, I neglect boring household tasks to spend time growing my own. Who needs clean clothes and dusted shelves when you can have a belly full of fresh, chemical free veg. Ironing V Digging - no contest !!
Helen
Definitely EJ... finite as in finished... must have been the last state school grammar school kid to do Latin... I don't do football Golf or any other silly ball game... but give me an allotment anyday..
;D
I'm female, never been called a lady, used to be calleda tomboy, too old now to be called a girlie, I think of myself as me
What is dusted shelves and ironing, a new type of veg i ask???? :D

........OR......oo eck!......is it that you like to Talk Dirty? Been out on the plot for most of the day & bet I'm dirty enough for 3 blokes :P

Terrible stereotyping, my wife's been watching football since she was 9 years old (on TV and a season ticket holder) and I've never played golf in my life, booooring. She also hates gardening :'(
All woman here! And girl - not sure about 'lady' :-\
Lots of young (ish!) women on my site, but still lots of the valuable experience there also.
Stereotypes? My OH is far tidier than me - he nags me to do the housework! We both work, although I do shorter hours than he does so I get to sort out the kids needs. Our allotment was supposed to be a joint project to get us both some exercise and him something to do after his mum died last year as he had spent most weekends looking after her. He hasn't taken to it at all though so it's just me down there - and do you know what? - I like it like that!
South Eastern Lady plottie here,Jason. Why exactly do you want to know?

Hmmmm, he has gone strangely quiet!!

Just read this thread, not sure where it is heading!
I'm a laydee, and like the others, my house gets abandoned for my lottie. Got my oh interested now, he's very good at building things. My friend also has a plot, but doesn't use this site.
Two more for you Jase, how many so far?
I'm glad I'm not the only one with a messy house (and nagging husband) because of my allotment.
There are lots of women at my allotment site (including me) but I was one of the first so the council workers responsible for the site thought i was a bit of a novelty then a whole lot more have arrived. They said to me one day in the summer another lady is coming to chose a plot. I said that's fantastic but it's bad news for you as we'll form a committee and then lots of problems will be sorted out......meaning things they haven't got around to doing. They looked worried after that.
I wasn't the first Female Person at my site, but there are many more now. Oldest allotmenteer regards us with gloom. He told me a few months ago that a neglected plot was going to be worked, "by someone like you....wears a skirt....no offence". My neighbour and I looked at each other: one wearing muddy jeans, the other muddy joggers.
At my new site I am the only woman and sometimes feel like the only human being - it is an open field, lovely but neglected. I've spotted three reasonably friendly men, but they are hardly ever there. A fourth can occasionally be spotted on the far side in a sunny patch, sitting in a damp armchair contemplating the chaos around him.
I left out the "but"... as in:
He told me a few months ago that a neglected plot was going to be worked, "...BUT by someone like you....wears a skirt....no offence". My neighbour and I looked at each other: one wearing muddy jeans, the other muddy joggers.
It's that pic of me thats done it.pmsl. Frightened him to bloomin death lol
Do you think he's feeling embarrased? :-[
I'm a lady, busy mum and wife with a part time job and i am concerned about what we all eat. I love my allotment so much. It is more that just food, its exercise, company, learning for the children (that veg isn't made in the supermarkets) and family time as well. Where else can my children (aged 6 & 8) ride their bikes up and down safely these days ...not on the street !
I don't have time for my allotment i have to make time...and some things have to be left 'not done'.....i think us women are fantastic organisers and are under-rated!

hi
im a female lottie holder from the north east not sure bout being a lady though ;D
Me too!
Ditto last post! Loads of women on our site and more on the waiting list too. :D busy_lizzie
Lady plotter too (with other halfs help ;)) seems i am one of 3 on our site but sadly one seems to have vanished her horses and goat too ???
Hi all
Ladies on the lotty, the more the merrier, good luck to u girlies, the ladies on our lotty are very friendly so good luck to u all. As 4 jason i think he's been blown out on the dating site and he's going through all the sites, starting in alphabetical order. Happy digging girls.
May the corn be with you.
I'm a female plotter a lady would be stretching it ~have you seen the dirt under my finger nails ;D
Yes, I was in a shopping centre and someone trying to sell manicure stuff tried to get me to show my nails...I made a run for it muttering about it being a waste of my parking ticket...can't show my nails! Also i haven't worn a skirt for a very long time....though I'm thinking about it as i can't get my favourite style of jeans from Landsend or anywhere anymore as i like the waist, well, around the waist!
I have to say most of the old men on my site seem quite happy to have women around. To be far most of them don't look that old....retired but still fit and healthy....a good advert for having allotments!
what is it about men naging for us to do the house work. We do stuff while They are out playing golf having 'meetings' down the pub with their mates. Why cant they do the house work while I am down the lotty?????????? HUH! ???
