Title: Is it too late to sow peas

Can anyone tell me if I am too late to sow peas, if not what variety would be good to try.

You can sow peas under cover for early crops next spring.  Heard that Mange - tout variety is best for this.  Varieties I have read about Oregon Sugar Pod.   Rounded seed peas are traditional for Autumn Feltham First, Pilot and Kelvedon Wonder.  Just picking some sugar snaps planted in August.
