Title: Malta
Post by: Hyacinth on October 08, 2006, 12:48:02
a long shot but worth asking....views on a winter away in Malta? I'm looking at Jan/Feb away & I've come across a great deal in a resort called Bugibba, north-east of the island, so should be handy for trips to Gozo. Never been to Malta before.....anyone got any views, please?

Probably best time to go on holiday from allotment without having to worry about harvests, watering, etc.  ;D
Don't know nought about Malta, but you should have a good time  ;D

We've been twice, once in July too hot and then late October just right about 25°C we experience one day of flash flooding but it soon dried up, I would imagine Jan/Feb to be considerably colder.

You'll either love it or loathe it, we loved it, a step back in time (about 50 years) Popeye village is worth a visit, we stayed in Bugibba on both occasions at the Flora Hotel, twas very nice.

I'm sure you will enjoy it Lish as it is mostly attracted by us more senior citizens :o ;D

I'm sure I could bore you with some pictures ::) :P ;D

Lish, Ron spent some of his national service there and he liked it , said they are very friendly peeps.   Of course a lot has changed since then  but i am sure it will be just as nice.  Mary.

My mother in law loves Malta, and has been at various times in the year, including early in the year.  She says ... yes go, but pack a cardi and a brolly.

I've thought about going a couple of times, but I'm a total sunworshipper so tend to go slightly further afield.  One that is on my list though is Madeira, plant peeps paradise, apparently.
