Title: somethings eating my cabbage
Post by: mickyg on October 07, 2006, 13:53:02
Despite nurturing my summer cabbage, I found that the hearts were eaten right through to the centre. I have just checked two of the savoys that were hearting up nicely and they are the same. Is it slugs? I notice that there are lots of whitefly around them. What's the best way of preventing this?

Help please

Slugs, most likely? Caterpillars leave their easily identifiable droppings & would be finished by now.

Whitefly? Masses, but no obvious problem.

Sounds like slugs to me as well.  And a warning to all-aphids have infested some of my kale so keep an eye open and treat as seems fit. Soft soap works OK.

At least the aphids let go when you boil 'em! And they're less crunchy than caterpillars!
