Title: strawberries growing again
Post by: adrianhumph on October 02, 2006, 09:22:29
 Hi all,  :D
I sheared off all the foliage on my strawbs after they finished fruiting. They grew new leaves fairly quickly, now some have flowered & are fruiting again. Should I remove the flowers & fruits ? Or not?
                                                              Adrian.

I'm eating two or three a day - not as sweet as when cropping in the summer, but hey! there are lots more which are starting to turn red and this week-end should see them ripen well. I've never grown strawberries before, so I'm well-pleased with the second crop in their hanging baskets.

the only thing is it will take the energy out of the plants for next year, you could keep some and chop the rest off , mine are still producing runners, I think you're right, it's the weather, my apple tree's the same
